OK! So I am a huge fan of Maria’s work (she goes by the pen name of WriterGig on eHow. I bought her ebook, which really made a difference in my monthly earnings. I read her blog almost daily and I truly enjoy it.

So why I am bringing all of this up?

Last night I got a comment from a reader that kind of disturbed me. In it, she basically called Maria a liar and alluded that Maria lies about her stats in order to sell more books. So instead of allowing the comment to be published, I decided to do my own research.

From Maria’s eHow member’s page, she has 330 articles published. This is the number of publically available articles the Maria has written on eHow.

On Maria’s blog, she shows a screen shot (which shows that one of her articles has earned over $1,000 to date). I say good job. This screen shot is also the reason why the commenter thinks Maria is lying about her stats. From this screen shot, you can clearly see that she has 602 articles.

So which one is correct? Is Maria somehow manipulating her stats to make her book look more attractive?

Absolutely NOT! The difference is the number of articles that Maria has in draft. The public profile page shows how many articles published by the author. When you look at the articles in your earnings page (which only you can see), your draft articles show up in your total numbers.

I proved this to myself by determining how my articles I currently have published on my public profile page. I then created a draft post for the purpose of this test. Finally, I went to my earnings page and sorted them, similar to the way Maria did for her screen shot.

The results? My earnings page shows one article more than my public profile page.

Normally, I would ignore this type of comment altogether, but if a comment was made here, I am sure it has been posted elsewhere. I just wanted everyone to feel confident that Maria is NOT trying to scam anyone. Her eBook is amazing, her writing is stellar.

Do your research first BEFORE trying to discredit someone AND watch out… With 300 articles in draft form, Maria is ready to make some massive passive income.
