Niche Marketing Strategies

51 days into the new year and I am still working towards completing my 2010 passive income challenge. Of course it has been a lot more difficult than I expected.

My day job always seem to consume more hours than I would like. It is a good thing I really like that job. My bosses are dead cool, and my staff are easy to work with, but I still wish I had more time to commit to working on my niche marketing strategies.

Brian Johnson (from Commission Ritual fame) always advocates working four hours a day, four hours a week. Personally, I am lucky to get in one hour a day, three days a week. I guess what I really need to do is try and wake up earlier in the morning to get some of this stuff done.

My primary goal for 2010 is to publish an average of two sites per week (or 104 sites in 2010). So far, I have published 11, which means I am 3 sites behind my goal.

The key thing to remember here is that these sites are seasonal niche sites (based on Halloween costumes). I will have NO idea how good (or bad) they will perform until after Halloween has passed. Basically, I am throwing everything I have a one specific type of niche marketing strategy so that I can see if it works. Another thing to note is that these sites will not earn me even one penny until Halloween either.

If it does, I will double down during Christmas.

On a related note, my eHow earnings continue to hold steady. I have not written a single article in well over 3 months and yet I continue to make between $80 and $100 per month. If I weren’t so dead set against relying on other people’s sites to make money I would block off a few hours a month to add to my portfolio of articles there.

I guess it is a good thing that eHow continues to perform seeing as how my clickbank earnings have fallen off the charts. I still get a sale every now and then but it is nothing to call home about. Of all of the niche marketing strategies I have tried thus far, being an affiliate for clickbank has proven to be the least consistent!

I am Out!
