eHow Article Experiment – Two Weeks Later
I started a little eHow experiment on March 7th. My goal was to pull two articles from the brink of extinction and move them into the land of the ‘earners’.
I spent about 20 minutes tweaking each article. I changed the keywords, added a few pictures and submitted them to a couple of bookmarking sites.
The results! NOTHING! Terrible, horrible, simply pathetic.
Article #1 – Increased page views from 211 to 244. Earnings still at zero!
Article #2 – Increased page views from 139 to 170. Earnings still at zero!
These articles are killing me. I just cannot figure them out. The keyword volume is decent and pays a few dollars a click. While they will never win a writing award, they are manageable and are 90% better than most of the crap people are producing. I know how to write, and my eHow earnings are increasing each month.
I just cannot figure out why these articles suck so much.
Do you have any articles that simply do not earn money? What did you do about it?

Dude, it takes a month or more for the bots to adjust your rankings. Give it some time.
Plus search volume is really in flux if you check Google’s Keyword tool, you will see that volume for January and February is seriously down for most keywords.
If you are writing good content and organizing the pages correctly you will bee the earning go up over time. It takes time for Google to adjust rankings and see content changes. Just keep at it and it will work out.
I just joined eHow not to long ago. I have not yet tried to re-write any of my blog posts in to the How To format yet for eHow, but will get this done soon.
If you don’t mind, what were your articles about?
